Some questions about the Romanian translation (also posted here[[1]]:

An explanation about some glyphs.

I used the new Romanian Standard Keyboard layout (!and also the correct one!) introduced in windows vista for the following characters: "Ș/ș" and "Ț/ț" (you can see a comma under "S/s"[2] and "T/t"[3], not like the "cedilla"[4] in the old keyboard layout named "legacy" which is not correct – e.g.: "Ş/ş" "Ţ/ţ".

You can find more usefull information about this subject here.[5] (!warning! romanian text!)

If anybody cares. I have chosen to translate the word "shot" with the romanian "instantaneu". However looking at other translations such as the german one I saw that some prefer to leave it as it is. E.G.: "Make this Shot larger=Vergrößern diesen Snap Shot"

Ich Weiß nicht weiter... So I stand here and wonder which solution/ translation is the correct one. --Victorjalba 12:55, 21 May 2007 (PDT)

Please leave "Shot" untranslated, as it is essentially the short version of "Snap Shot" and to prevent ambiguity in translations. An excellent point, though! We hope everyone else is following this convention as well. Snap Team

Serbian (latin) is translated and ready (with new phrases). I can also do Serban (cyrillic), if needed (both variants are in use). Also, I could do website translation, just give me some time to finish my June exams ;)

--pixxel 00:39, 14 June 2007 (PDT)

Afrikaans is almost ready. I just have a few questions. When Snap Shot is used without the ™, do you have to translate it? Secondly, would you prefer a strict translation (very conservative or formal) or would you prefer a more relaxed translation (how the normal Afrikaans person talks, which is less formal)?

Afrikaans is completed. --AJK 03:15, 14 June 2007 (PDT)

Apologies for the belated response. Snap Shot (or these variants: Snap Shots, Shots, Shot) should not be translated, because the translation may be misunderstood as something other than Snap Shots itself. As for formal or relaxed translations, we prefer the relaxed as Snap Shots is for the general user. Snap Team

Four new translations added. Afrikaans completed. --AJK 02:36, 18 June 2007 (PDT)

Hungarian translation completed!

Sony500, thank you! Snap Team 07:32, 20 June 2007 (PDT)

Serbian (Latin) has been updated, and finished. Serbian (Cyrillic) is also completed and uploaded. It seems that on the main translation page Serbian (Latin), and Serbian (Cyrillic) have the same link. I've added Serbian (Cyrillic) here, so if this could be corrected, it would be great. As for language codes, well, no one here knows exactly what they are (We are in a process of changing from 'yu' code to 'rs' code, and iso standards do not yet clearly state the differences.), but Serbian (latin) should be sp-rs and Serbian (Cyrillic) should be sr-rs. Also, any font should be fine as long as it has FULL Unicode support. --pixxel 01:44, 20 June 2007 (PDT)

Pixxel, wow! Nice work; thanks! Snap Team 07:32, 20 June 2007 (PDT)

Russian is updated. Do you need the A* phrases translated into Russian too?

Msmolev: thanks for completing the Russian translation and for the kind offer to translate the Snap.com web pages as well. Russian translation is already available (mostly) for the web pages; but feel free to review/proofread it in the live Snap.com pages (start from the Shots Central page, this page, and the FAQ page). There are also some new phrases on these pages that have not been translated to Russian (you can tell as they remain in English even after selecting the Russian flag). We will soon put up all the phrases on the Russian wiki page. In the meantime, you may want to manually add the new translations/corrections (see the Japanese page as an example).
